Why Should I Buy An iPad? Did You Buy One?

iPad has enjoyed a competition-free market ever since it was launched. Apple fanboys, who are like collectors and need to own every device that comes out of Cupertino barn, bought the devices without even looking into what it does. On September 2, Samsung will launch the first 'true' competitor of the iPad. That reminded me of a colleague who recently considered buying the iPad. I called him up to check if he bought one.
 

24 Hours Shipping, Is iPad Craze Over?

The reports are rife that Apple is now shipping iPads within 24 hours. Apple has changed the shipping time for iPad from days to 24 hours on its 'iStore'. It's hard for me to understand whether its good news for Apple fanboys or bad news for Apple investors.

The US Software patent madness has started yet another legal circus. Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's firm, Interval Licensing, has filed a lawsuit against 11 companies for violations of several software patents. The companies include AOL, Apple, eBay, Facebook, Google, Netflix, Office Depot, OfficeMax, Staples, Yahoo and YouTube.

Facebook has reportedly sued a start-up called Teachbook.com. Why? Because it uses the word 'book' in its name. Facebook doesn't even own trademark on the use of "book".

Microsoft Takes Over Yahoo! Search In US, Canada

Yahoo! has completed the transition to Microsoft's search engine (now re-branded as Bing) in US and Canada. The search is limited only to English, it is expected that other languages may come at later time.

Apple's iTV Coming: Digg Founder

Digg founder Kevin Rose has dropped another rumor.  Kevin wrote on his blog, "Apple will be releasing a revamped/renamed version of their 'Apple TV' set-top box, called 'iTV'. The box will run the Apple iOS (same as the iPhone/iPad), and be priced around $99."
