24 Hours Shipping, Is iPad Craze Over?

The reports are rife that Apple is now shipping iPads within 24 hours. Apple has changed the shipping time for iPad from days to 24 hours on its 'iStore'. It's hard for me to understand whether its good news for Apple fanboys or bad news for Apple investors.

Why is it good news for remaining iPad aspirants is quite obvious -- they will get to see this revolutionary and magical devices faster.

The bad news part is a bit easier, all you need is to follow Apple's announcements and interpretations by fans carefully.

When Apple/AT&T infrastructure crumbled when iPhone 4 was launched it was projected as a success -- unexpected demand. Going by the same logic, one might think that the iPad now had no takers and the device is sitting in warehouses awaiting buyers. Thus surplus availability and lack of demand made it possible for the company to ship the device within 24 hours.

September 2, 2010 will bring the first competitor to the restrictive i(diot)Pad. Samsung will announce the launch of Galaxy Tablet, which runs on Android and in-fact allows users to 'do' something with the tablet instead of using it as an idiot box to consume content.
