Is It The End Of Hardcover Books?

Jeff Bezos, Founder and CEO of Amazon.com has stated in a statement that Amazon.com customers now purchase more Kindle books than hardcover books -- astonishing when you consider that we've been selling hardcover books for 15 years, and Kindle books for 33 months.

Websites posed threat to printed newspapers and magazines. Is is the beginning of the end of the era of touch and feel? Online music and movies are fast replacing CDs and DVD sales. Social Networking sites like Facebook are replacing real 'hang-outs'; 'fitness' games of Nintendo are replacing real 'work-outs'; cloud is replacing data stored on your local machine...and now Kindle is replacing real hard-core books.

Do you think devices like Kindle can replace the 'smell' of fresh paper, when you buy a new book. Can it replace the sensation you get when you turn the page of a book?
