LG's Tablet Will Beat The iPad
LG has challenged Apple's tablet publicly. According to Wall Street Journal, Chang Ma, LG's vice president of marketing for mobile-devices division claimed, "Our tablet will be better than the iPad." The Journals also reported that he 'acknowledged that the iPad is a fine device, but he criticized it for not letting people "do much work on it."
LG is expected to launch its Android running by the end of the year. Ma said that the focus of LG's tablet will be to allow users do more than what they can on the iPad.
iPad has quite a many restrictions owing to which it is nothing more than a TV -- a device for media consumption. Apple's technolgies have recently exposed the serious security flaws these devices have which may put user's data at risk.
LG has been a strong player in the mobile segment, however in the PC market the company doesn't dictate much terms. Going by Ma's words it seems LG is all geared up have some pad wrestling with Apple.
iPad is primarily succeeded owing to Apple's marketing and hype around the product and Apple fan's loyality to buy everything that comes out of Jobs' barn. The way Android running phones have overtaken the iPhone market in the US, it seems the wave of Android tablets will shake the iPad market pretty well. The best takeaway is more options.
Finally, we may see a device which we need..not just want. A device which can in-fact be used!
