Apple iPhone 4 Fails German Test
Stiftung Warentest, a German consumer organisation and foundation, has tested the Apple iPhone 4 and the results are not impressive.
According to the sophesticated tests, the iPhone dropped 90% signal with just a 'touch' of a finger at the weak spot. This contradicts Apple's videos attacking competitors which show Apple' model tightly gripping the competitors phone to show signal drop.
GSM Arena reports,"According to the Stiftung Warentest, only a touch of a finger over the antenna gap in the bottom left corner is enough for the iPhone 4 to lose up to 90 percent of the signal. And, depending on the strength of thе network signal, that can easily lead to dropped calls. As for web browsing, Internet connection gets 'painfully' slow when you position your hand over the soft spot."
Stiftung Warentest tested two other phones (names not disclosed) and found that compared to the iPhone 4 these phones dropped only 25% signals. This is a huge difference. The drop of 90% signal will drop your call where as 25% percent drop will barely be noticeable.
Apple, despite, negative reports has been defending the iPhone 4. Instead of admitting and addressing the issue, Apple is acting like a baby by comically showing other phones also drop signals.
The German report means a strict warning to potential iPhone 4 buyers as the phone will be available in most European countries from July 30th.
Stiftung Warentest is a German consumer organisation and foundation involved in investigating and comparing goods and services in an unbiased way.
