Google Android: Best Open Source Contribution For Mobile Devices
The Linux New Media awards 2010 were given out at CeBIT. The winners were announced at the "CeBIT Open Source" forum. This year, the jury included editors, journalists, the open source community and industry experts.
This year there were six categories under which the awards were given. These categories were: Outstanding Contribution to Open Source/Linux /Free Software, Most Innovative Open Source/Free Software project, Most Linux/Open Source-friendly Hardware Vendor, and Best Open Source Contribution for Mobile Devices. Jim Zemlin, director, The Linux Foundation and Klaus Knopper,creator of Knoppix, were among the top presenters. The winners are:
* Xen: Best Open Source Solution for Cloud Computing. Keir Fraser accepted the award on behalf of Xen.
* Intel: Most Linux/Open Source-friendly Hardware Vendor.
* AdBlock: Best Open Source Firefox Extension award for .
* Google Android: Best Open Source Contribution for Mobile Devices.
* OpenStreetMap : Most Innovative Open Source Project.
* The Linux Kernel Programmers: Outstanding Contribution to Linux /Open Source/Free Software award .
